Time Management Lesson Plan

TIME ALLOTTED FOR THIS LESSON: 20-30 minutes

The goal of this lesson is to teach student-athletes how to plan a healthy daily schedule to excel as a student-athlete in the classroom, on the field, and in social settings.

STEP 1: Students, please first take a look at the NCAA Time Management Expectations  . Please answer the questions on page 2 of the worksheet.

STEP 2: Watch the video on Time Management Techniques & Tools. Be sure to take notes on techniques that stand out to you.

TIME TO COLLABORATE & INTERACT: 

Based on what you have learned about time management, it is time to reflect on your current time management techniques to see how you can improve your current system. Students are encouraged to take the survey immediately after watching the YouTube video and then again after week 1 of implementing new time management strategies. To keep track of progress in your time management techniques, take the survey several times over the course of the semester.

STEP: 3 Printable Calendar : Print this blank calendar and fill in your current monthly assignments and sporting events.

  • Students may use this printable calendar to keep track of important dates and use it as a visual to keep organized on a month-to-month and week-to-week basis.
